About this position

RINA is currently recruiting for a Head of Indonesia Marine to join its office in Jakarta within the Division. The Head of Marine Office is responsible for leading and managing all operations within the Marine Office, overseeing both Surveyors at all levels of seniority. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and operational management to ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and the achievement of quality, technical, and operative objectives.

Responsibilities

Operational Management:
• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Marine Office.
• Coordinate the scheduling and assignment of survey tasks.
• Ensure that all office activities are conducted efficiently and effectively.
• Monitor operational performance and implement improvements where necessary.

Quality and Technical Objectives:
• Define and implement strategies to achieve quality and technical targets.
• Monitor the performance against set objectives and take corrective actions when required.
• Collaborate with the Marine Operations Directors to align office goals with organizational objectives.

Team Leadership:
• Lead a team of Surveyors and Principal Surveyors, providing guidance and support.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Foster a positive and motivating work environment.
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.

Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure all services are delivered in compliance with applicable international and local maritime regulations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant rules and procedures.
• Implement procedures to ensure adherence to compliance standards.

Technical Control:
• Conduct regular reviews of technical documents and reports to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of technical output.
• Address any discrepancies or issues in technical documentation promptly.

Technical Assistance:
• Provide expert technical advice to customers and local authorities.
• Address and resolve technical queries and issues raised by stakeholders.
• Conduct technical consultations and site visits as needed to support customer requirements.

Customer Satisfaction:
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and expectations.
• Implement customer feedback mechanisms to continuously improve service quality.
• Ensure timely and effective resolution of customer issues and concerns.

Requirements

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Engineering
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering
• +5 years experience in the maritime industry, with a strong understanding of international maritime regulations.
• Proven leadership and management skills, with experience leading a team of technical professionals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Deep understanding of the marine industry in Indonesia is preferred.
