R&D Maintenance Manager
About this position
The R&D Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all engineering and maintenance processes, including utility, facility, man-hour, and costs, while ensuring the successful installation and commissioning of projects.
Responsibilities
• Translates strategies into operational goals and objectives, identifies necessary resources (people and capital) and leads the organization to focus on high priority opportunities.
• Assures their organization follows through to achieve superior execution of plans.
• Establishes internal/external benchmarking and measurement expectations for the entire manufacturing and packaging development organization.
• Builds and maintains strong relationship inside and outside of the organization. Think ahead in non-incremental ways to develop superior competitive tactics to support growth and productivity priorities.
• Maintain and sustains the flexibility and responsiveness of a workforce through the development and leadership of a team-based culture.
• Implements advanced information technology to assure optimization of capacity and capabilities.
• Develops tactical leaders at all levels and high output teams. Guides the leadership development process ensuring ongoing succession for key position.
• Creates a high performance, externally-focused operating culture throughout the organization which emphasizes the customer, teamwork, personal accountability, and a winning attitude. Be a role model on the desired behaviors personally.
• Drive the use of technology in engineering, facility management and maintenance and EHS. Integrate best practices through focus on external competitors and other industries.
• Manage capital assets from both cash flow and operation points of view. Implement process that unitizes a broad range of criteria for prioritizing capital spending, e.g. cost, tax implications, initial investment, and resources available.
• Develops and implements strategies that will improve supply chain performance and reduce cost.
• Exhibit project leadership, self-confidence and effective decision-making throughout each project.
• Assure that the construction project and the finished facility are compliant with all applicable safety, regulatory, legal requirement.
• Achieves effective financial control through management of project scope, estimating, effective use of SAP- CMMS and budget control tools, risk management, and project closeout.
Requirements
• Bachelor of an engineering, maintenance field such as plant building/ construction systems, manufacturing operations maintenance, -etc-
• Experienced in engineering as demonstrated by prior project management experience that included design and construction of a major facility.
• Understanding of project delivery systems and project management.
• Understanding of financial management as it relates to capital and expense spending.
• Understanding of building maintenance activities and functions.
• Understanding of utilities, alternative energy source, energy supply and demand.
• Knowledge of business objectives, strategies and nutritional, RTD industry.
• Understanding of regulatory, environment, GMP/GLP.
