PT Profesional Telekomunikasi Indonesia ("Protelindo") was established in 2003 and is the leading independent owner and operator of towers for wireless communications companies in Indonesia. Since 2008, Protelindo's shares of 99.99% have been owned by PT Sarana Menara Nusantara Tbk ("SMN"). (* Status 3Q21) As of March 2023, Protelindo owned and operated approximately 29,757 telecommunication tower sites with more than 53,820 tenants in Indonesia, primarily in Sumatra, Java, Bali, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. All business activities and SMN business operations are carried out through Protelindo. On March 8, 2010, SMN completed its initial public offering of shares and is now listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) with the stock code "TOWR". Protelindo’s primary business is leasing space on its multi-tenant tower sites to major wireless operators in Indonesia pursuant to long-term lease agreements. This leased space consists of vertical space on the tower, on which our customers can install radio frequency antennas and microwave antennas, as well as ground space at each site for our customers’ shelters and cabinets that house electronic equipment and power supplies. Our tower portfolio is the largest in Indonesia among independent tower operators and boasts the broadest geographic footprint. Our geographically diversified tower portfolio offers coverage across the entire Indonesian archipelago, thereby strengthening our position as the preferred tower provider able to address the needs of national, regional, local, and emerging wireless communication company operators. Protelindo operates independently from the wireless communication operators and has a diversified customer base. Our key customers include the major telecommunications operators in Indonesia.

About this position

The Legal Coordinator will be responsible for providing legal support and advisory services related to site/land acquisition and other projects, ensuring compliance and minimizing risks.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other documents regarding any transaction concerning site/land acquisition (purchase or lease) or other build-to-suit (BTS) Projects.
• Provide legal support and advisory services to the relevant business units regarding site/land acquisition (purchase or lease) to protect the company’s interest in day-to-day business activities.
• Work with and consult the relevant departments to ensure that contractual agreements and/or legal documents appropriately address the user's concerns and minimize any regulatory issues and other business risks.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on other legal issues affecting the Telecommunications, Tower, or Fiber Optics Technology Industry.
• Conduct due diligence in site/land acquisition projects of the Protelindo group.
• Educate stakeholders and subordinates about the risks in site/land acquisition activities.
• Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the VP for Legal and/or General Counsel / Chief of Legal from time to time.
• Ensure that the reports to be submitted to the users, VP of Legal, and/or General Counsel / Chief of Legal are complete, accurate, and timely.
• Ensure that the team policies are observed and any issues are escalated properly.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of legal practice gained from a reputable commercial law firm or the legal department of an MNC or large local company in Indonesia.
• At least 1 year of experience in the Telecommunication or Fiber Optics Technology industry or property industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable university.
• Commercial pragmatism, ability to apply legal knowledge and expertise in the business environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Qualified to practice law in Indonesia.
