COST ANALYST
About this position
The Cost Analyst is responsible for delivering competitive material pricing solutions to support growth and margins as per company objectives, collaborating with various teams to determine pricing strategies and manage supply chain solutions.
Responsibilities
• Accountable for delivering competitive material pricing solutions to support growth and margins as per company objectives.
• Collaborate with global customer unit, customer, program management, business proposal lead, finance, and/or sales to determine material pricing strategy.
• Align on trade-offs between proposal cycle-time, solution precision, and scope with clients to deliver an agreed to price strategy.
• Project manage supply chain solutions with commodity management, costing teams, and engineering teams to deliver desired pricing and margin solutions.
• Prepares material pricing solutions for new business opportunities (bids) and manages ongoing pricing through the lifecycle of the product (re-pricing) including generation of Bill of Material, cost competitive analysis, and margin recommendations.
• Provide insight and recommendations to support external (customers or suppliers) negotiations.
• Presents proposed solution to key stakeholders.
• Perform take-down trends analysis and modelling to leverage insight in service requests.
• Conduct market research and generate product teardowns to enable competitiveness assessments in service requests.
• Proactively drive continuous improvement in margin expansion, cycle time, pricing competitiveness, pricing tactics, and process efficiency.
Requirements
• At least 3 years (preferably 5 years) of working experience in the EMS or an MNC environment.
• Experience should include cost analysis skills, knowledge in material pricing and strategy.
• Good supply base knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical commodities such as plastic/cables, connectors, modules, PCBs, etc.
• Proven experience in successful VA/VE proposals.
• Knowledge in SAP is an added advantage.
• Familiarity of Microsoft Office is a pre-requisite.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar.
