Quantity Surveyor (QS)
About this position
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for estimating construction project costs, managing project budgets, overseeing contracts, monitoring project expenses, and providing cost efficiency recommendations.
Responsibilities
• Estimate construction project costs based on working drawings, technical specifications, and quantity lists.
• Prepare project budgets and ensure planned costs align with agreed budgets.
• Compile, review, and manage contracts between project stakeholders (contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers).
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions and resolve any claims or disputes that may arise.
• Conduct on-site measurements to ensure job quantities match initial calculations.
• Calculate quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed and monitor their usage throughout the project.
• Monitor project expenditures and ensure the project remains within budget.
• Analyze budget vs. actual expenditure comparisons and prepare cost variance reports.
• Prepare project financial reports, including cash flow, interim reports, and final project reports.
• Provide cost efficiency and resource management recommendations to enhance project profitability.
• Compile and manage claims for additional costs or time related to changes in scope of work.
• Negotiate with relevant parties to reach fair agreements.
Requirements
• Minimum education of Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Quantity Surveyor.
• Minimum 2-3 years of work experience in the construction field.
• Ability to analyze unit prices for Bill of Quantities.
• Experience/ability in preparing Tender Management, BQ, Tender Report, Contract Documents, Interim Valuations, and Final Accounts.
• Able to work honestly, with discipline, meticulousness, responsibility, and can work individually or with a team.
• Willing to be placed in Makassar.
