About this position

The Associate Payroll Specialist is an entry level subject matter expert responsible for assisting with accurate payroll processing. This role involves collaborating with the payroll team, maintaining records, and contributing to process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assists with processing accurate and timely payroll for employees, including calculations, deductions, and adjustments.
• Enters and maintains payroll data in payroll systems, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
• Supports the administration of employee benefits.
• Collaborates with timekeeping systems to ensure accurate tracking of employee work hours.
• Receives detailed instructions to participate in reconciling payroll data and resolving discrepancies to maintain data accuracy.
• Receives detailed instructions to assist in conducting regular audits of payroll records and reports to identify and address errors.
• Responds to basic employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and payments.
• Support the preparation of payroll reports and maintains accurate payroll records.
• Contributes ideas for process improvements and automation to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
• Supports payroll-related projects, system upgrades, and process enhancements.
• Assists in organizing and maintaining payroll documentation for audits and recordkeeping.
• Stays updated on payroll regulations and best practices through ongoing learning.
• Maintains the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical behavior when handling sensitive payroll information.
• Performs any other related task as required.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of payroll processes.
• Basic proficiency in using payroll software and HRIS systems for accurate data management and reporting.
• Basic ability to analyze payroll data, identifying trends, and generating insights.
• Familiarity with time and attendance systems for tracking employee work hours.
• Precision in processing payroll data to ensure accuracy in calculations and records.
• Basic ability to identify and resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies.
• Dedication to assisting employees with payroll inquiries and concerns.
