Reverse Engineering Specialist (Manager Level)
About this position
The Reverse Engineering Specialist (Manager Level) is responsible for leading reverse engineering projects, analyzing pump designs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards while driving continuous improvement within the department.
Responsibilities
• Lead in-depth analysis of existing pump designs, operations, and maintenance requirements.
• Oversee and manage reverse engineering projects to ensure the creation of parts that meet or exceed original specifications.
• Apply advanced vibration analysis techniques to diagnose pump issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct thorough investigations of pump failures to prevent future occurrences, and provide actionable insights for improvements.
• Maintain detailed records of all reverse engineering activities, including design modifications, analysis reports, and manufacturing instructions.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams, providing leadership to ensure projects meet all technical and performance standards.
• Ensure all reverse-engineered components comply with industry standards (such as ISO, API) and regulatory requirements.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in reverse engineering technologies, driving continuous improvement within the department.
• Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and cross-functional team communications.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in reverse engineering, including experience leading or managing reverse engineering projects.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), mechanical systems, and materials science.
• Vibration Analysis Level 3 certification (strongly preferred).
• Knowledge of machining processes, material selection, and quality control standards.
• Experience in failure analysis techniques (e.g., FMEA) and preventative strategies.
• Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in technical writing to document reverse engineering processes and reports.
• Strong communication skills and experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO, API) and continuous learning in reverse engineering practices.
