EHS Manager
About this position
Responsibilities
• Strategic EHS Leadership: Develop, implement, and champion the site's EHS strategy, ensuring alignment with L'Oréal Group's global EHS standards and all applicable regulations. This includes creating and executing the annual EHS program, setting ambitious targets, and fostering a proactive safety culture.
• Compliance & Certification Management: Maintain and enhance the site's EHS Management System, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and certifications. Oversee audits and inspections and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement effective control measures to minimize hazards and prevent incidents. Proactively identify and address potential EHS risks, fostering a predictive safety approach. Exercise the authority to stop any operations deemed unsafe.
• Operational EHS Support: Provide hands-on EHS support and guidance to operational teams, acting as a trusted advisor and coach. Collaborate with production, facilities, and other departments to integrate EHS best practices into daily operations.
• Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis: Lead incident investigations, utilizing root cause analysis methodologies to identify underlying causes and implement corrective actions. Drive learning and continuous improvement from incidents.
• Training & Development: Develop and deliver engaging EHS training programs to all employees, ensuring a high level of EHS awareness and competency across the site. Promote a culture of safety ownership and responsibility.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, local authorities, and internal L'Oréal teams. Represent the site on EHS matters and communicate effectively with all parties.
• Security Management: Oversee site security operations, ensuring the safety and security of employees, buildings, and assets. Develop and implement security policies and procedures and supervise the security team.
• Team Management & Development: Lead and develop the EHS & Facilities team, providing coaching, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth. Build a high-performing team that embodies L'Oréal's values.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 10 years of experience in EHS Management, specifically within an FMCG company.
• In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and industry best practices.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
