Quality Engineer / Supplier Quality Engineer
About this position
The Quality Engineer / Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for managing quality-related issues within the manufacturing team, supporting engineering in identifying root causes, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems.
Responsibilities
• Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team
• Support engineering to Identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards
• Carry out product and process auditing including the supplier audit
• Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained
• Monitor and report on quality-related key performance indicators including scrap monitoring, rework levels, parts per million (PPM) figures
• Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (IATF 16949 and ISO 9001)
• Undertake special projects as required
• Assist with training of quality awareness
• Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system
• Assist with first off sample approvals
• Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System Analysis
• Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements
• Establishing quality standards for raw materials, components, and services
• Working with suppliers to develop quality improvement plans and ensuring their implementation
• Monitoring and measuring supplier performance against established quality metrics
• Conducting quality checks to ensure that supplied parts and services meet the established quality standards
• Working with cross-functional teams to ensure that incoming materials meet the required specifications
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Have relevant learning or working experience in mechanical and electronic fields
• Knowledge of quality management system ISO 9001, IATF 16949 will be advantaged
• Proficient in data analysis, problem solving, and root cause analysis
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
• Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
