Budgeting Officer

The Budgeting Officer plays a critical role in the financial planning process, overseeing budget preparation, monitoring budget adherence, analyzing financial performance, and supporting strategic decision-making across departments. This role requires strong financial analysis skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Experience in sectors such as business real estate, healthcare, e-commerce, or a similar field is advantageous to understand industry-specific budgeting practices, regulatory requirements, and revenue cycles.
Responsibilities
• Budget Preparation: Collaborate with department heads to prepare annual budgets and forecasts based on historical data, industry trends, and strategic priorities.
• Variance Analysis: Conduct regular variance analyses to compare actual performance against budgeted figures, identifying trends, potential issues, and areas for cost optimization.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting budget performance, key variances, and financial forecasts.
• Cost Control & Efficiency: Support department heads in implementing cost-control measures. Provide recommendations for efficiency improvements to maintain budget adherence.
• Forecasting: Regularly update and refine financial forecasts based on changing market conditions, internal operations, and business goals.
• Industry-Specific Budgeting: Apply knowledge of budgeting practices specific to business real estate, healthcare, e-commerce, or other relevant sectors to ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Data Analysis & Decision Support: Analyze financial data, assess financial risks, and provide insights that support strategic decision-making and long-term financial planning.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various teams to gather accurate financial inputs, understand their budgetary needs, and provide guidance on financial resource allocation.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve budgeting processes, enhance forecasting accuracy, and streamline reporting efforts.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in budgeting, financial planning, or analysis, with a preference for experience in business real estate, healthcare, e-commerce, or related industries.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with financial planning and analysis software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Advanced skills in MS Excel.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in handling complex data sets.
• Industry Knowledge: Understanding of industry-specific financial cycles, regulatory compliance, and budgeting nuances within business real estate, healthcare, e-commerce, or similar sectors.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders clearly.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and develop solutions.
