Logistics Officer (Import-Export)
About this position
Responsibilities
Import and Export Management:
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee the import and export processes of goods, with a focus on maintaining food safety during transportation and storage.
• Maintain effective communication with transportation agents, shipping companies, customs brokers, and relevant government agencies to ensure that food safety standards are met.
• Monitor and track the status of shipments, ensuring that all goods are transported under conditions that preserve food safety and quality.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment on delivery schedules and resolve any logistical or food safety issues.
Document Management and Legal Compliance:
• Prepare and manage all necessary documentation for import and export procedures, including invoices, packing lists, air waybills, bills of lading, and customs declarations, with attention to food safety compliance.
• Ensure all documents are accurate and compliant with international trade regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
• Liaise with customs and other regulatory bodies to ensure that all shipments meet legal, regulatory, and food safety requirements.
Food Safety Compliance:
• Ensure that all logistics activities, including storage, handling, and transportation, comply with food safety standards and regulations.
• Regularly review and update food safety procedures related to logistics operations.
• Work with quality assurance teams to implement corrective actions if any food safety issues are identified during the logistics process.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in logistics or supply chain management, particularly within the food industry, is advantageous.
• Able to communicate in English at a good level.
• Strong understanding of import/export regulations, particularly in relation to the food industry.
