POSCO-Thainox takes deliveries of the hot-rolled coils (“black coils”) and processes them through annealing and pickling lines, and in Sendzimir mills to obtain desirable thickness. The cold-rolled coils are then given final annealing, before being delivered to a skin pass mill to create a suitable finish, and afterwards to the slitting and cut-to-length lines. Each and every production process is computer-controlled, while metallurgical quality and mechanical properties are tested in state-of-the-art laboratories.

About this position

The Instrument Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying instrument devices and automation control systems, as well as managing preventive maintenance and spare parts.

Responsibilities

• To ensure the troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying of the instrument devices and automation control system.
• To plan and estimate the cost of materials, and contact suppliers.
• To ensure the good implementation of modifications in instruments requested by production lines.
• To manage the preventive maintenance and the spare parts in the Automation & Instrument section.
• To set the plan for shutdown and preventive maintenance.
• Other job assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Instrument, Automation, Electronics or Control Engineering
• 2-3 years experience in the automation field.
• Must know PLC, DCS, SCADA, and computer networks.
• Be a good creator and communicator.
• Good at learning new things, hard-working, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Able to work after normal working time or weekends.
• Have Microsoft Office advance skill
• Good command of English
