Since 1996, we have gradually built up our businesses in Indonesia from a simple trader to a large scale midstream player. We produce various types of agribusiness products ingredients such as cocoa, coffee and many more with more than 400,000 farmers, collectors, and suppliers throughout the archipelago. We are the largest exporter of Robusta coffee and the leading exporter of Arabicas in Indonesia, also the largest exporter of cocoa products. We recognize that communities need support to improve quality and yields, particularly in the face of climate change. We, therefore, run some of the most extensive sustainable sourcing programs in Indonesia.
We provide direct employment to almost 1,200 employees and over 2,000 seasonal workers who work closely with our suppliers from Sumatera and Java to Sulawesi.
The Social Impact Project Officer will support the Human Rights and Inclusion Manager within the Livelihoods and Social Capital unit, focusing on sustainability goals and social initiatives.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Human Rights and Inclusion Manager, the project officer’s tasks will include, but are not limited to:
• Manage various pilot projects for implementation of Agri-Supplier Code (ASC)
• Support the implementation of human rights due diligence processes
• Assist in initiatives related to child labor and women and youth inclusion in agriculture
• Monitor and evaluate project outcomes and impacts
• Facilitate learning and sharing of best practices within the team and with external stakeholders
• Contribute to reporting and documentation of project activities and outcomes
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and implement effective programs
• Engage with farmers and communities to understand their needs and challenges
• Promote alignment and cross-learning across business units and global platforms.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, international development, human rights)
• Experience in project management and implementation
• Knowledge of human rights issues, particularly in agriculture and supply chains
• Strong analytical and evaluation skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
