Financial Analyst
About this position
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, profitability analysis, and providing commercial support to enhance financial processes and decision-making.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.
• Analyze financial results to provide insights into key performance drivers, variances, and financial trends.
• Support the team in preparing weekly and monthly KPI dashboards for presentation to senior management and the commercial finance team.
Budgeting and Financial Forecasting:
• Assist in preparing the annual budget and periodic forecasts by working closely with the finance and commercial finance analysis teams.
• Support data collection and analysis to ensure forecast accuracy and alignment with business goals.
• Collaborate with department heads to gather data and validate assumptions for financial planning.
Profitability and Cost Analysis:
• Conduct margin and profitability analysis by product, customer, and sales channel to identify areas for improvement.
• Support the evaluation of pricing strategies, promotions, and customer contracts to ensure profitability goals are met.
• Assist in reviewing Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and overhead expenses, recommending opportunities for cost control and efficiency improvements.
Commercial Support:
• Assist in evaluating new business opportunities, including new product launches and market expansion.
• Support the development of business cases for investments and initiatives by helping with financial modeling and risk assessment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of financial processes.
Analysis and Reporting:
• Conduct financial analyses as requested by management to support strategic decision-making.
• Provide support during audits to ensure accurate and accessible financial records.
• Assist with special projects related to process improvements, cost analysis, and system optimization.
Requirements
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Experience:
• Over 5 years of experience in finance roles, specifically within the FMCG industry.
• Experience in financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting processes.
Technical Skills:
• Strong Excel skills with experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Understanding of key financial metrics and performance indicators in the FMCG sector (e.g., gross margin, inventory turnover).
Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
