Total Design Engineering Manager
About this position
Responsibilities
• Lead and enhance capabilities of D&E department through people competency, software advancement, process integration, applying best practice knowhow and so on, for superior quality, productivity improvement, risk mitigation and best customer experience (both internal and external customers)
• Organize and drive changes in D&E team to complete structure and architectural design works in high quality on schedule, solve related technical problems in design process, exactly communicate technical information with detailing and manufactory on time, continuously study new technique, new code and improve professional technical level.
• Formulate and execute strategies for the company’s D&E services to succeed at tendering and awarding stages efficiently and effectively, including management and technical involvement of design reviews and key milestones delivery.
• Set and manage department KPI’s and budget
• Management and technical involvement of multiple concurrent multi-disciplinary projects with regular review, prioritizing and reporting to all stakeholders, resulting in on-time and on-budget completion.
• Oversee and approve the technical output of the department ensuring compliance with specifications and appropriate regulatory requirements.
• Ensure designs are optimized (i.e. not excessively over or under engineered). Systems design for purpose, reliability and manufacturability.
• Provide support and work closely with Sales, Project Execution, Marketing, Manufacturing and related functions
• Actively engage with key business stakeholders for research and development of new system and product design
• Leverage and promote technical best practice knowhow and engineering excellence in collaboration with ASEAN counterparts.
• Build and manage diverse team from different disciplines and technical expertise
• Ensure that quality and reliability are at the forefront of everything the team delivers.

Requirements
• Position requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Steel Structural design or higher, preferably with 15 years plus of Civil design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• The ability to motivate a team and ensure they remain committed to their work and The ability to discuss strategies with a team and give verbal directions to monitor progress and keep team members motivated.
• Ability to execute product design activities through all phases of projects, from initial concept design
