About this position
Responsibilities
• Management of team health and safety outcomes. Includes leading by example in the development and adherence to safe systems of work.
• Participating as an integral and active member in the strategic planning process of the company.
• Managing all aspects of the market mix including price setting and service offer management, promotions, channel to market and distribution strategy, product and service offer development strategy, product positioning strategy.
• Develop, coordinate, guide and maintain marketing’s strategic and operational plans in support of the overall mission and business strategy.
• Create and analyze metrics to assess marketing program effectiveness.
• Successfully manage quality of all marketing project components including promotional strategy, MARCOMMS material development, target audience selection, event management, TV, e-marketing, direct mail, TV, etc.
• Managing the company’s corporate and product brand perception in the market place.
• Managing the collection and reporting of market intelligence including market size, share, intra and inter-material market trends and detailed insight regarding the application and penetration of BlueScope Steel’s products in the market.
• Communicating marketing plans, policies and market intelligence throughout the organization, including management groups and professional staff.
• Determining pertinent information required by management in making effective decisions. Ensures that the gathering, processing, distribution and use of this information occurs in a timely, accurate and cost effective manner.
• Promoting and monitoring relationships between the company’s internal marketing resources and external entities (e.g. vendors). Establishing and cultivating networks and relationships with customers, relevant industry bodies and other key influencer groups.
• Responsible for the recruitment, development, motivation and retention of staff in line with budgetary objectives and personnel policies.
• Monitoring marketing activities and costs as related to the overall utilization of resources required to meet operational requirements.
Requirements
• Master in Business Administration or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive marketing experience in managing functions and departments.
• Three or more years of direct management of a major marketing operation is preferred.
• Proven skills in written and verbal communications (English).
• Experience in budget preparation and monitoring.
• Experience in planning and organizing marketing activities.
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player that influences, motivates and educates other team members.
• Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate with vendors, and contracts.
