Proposal Engineer (Quantity Surveyor/PEB)
About this position
Reporting to the Country Sales Manager, the Proposal Engineer will be responsible for leading, managing and taking ownership of tendering process from customer’s inquiries to complete handover to project team for Thailand market.
Responsibilities
• Manage tendering aspects of a large scale, complex, or significant engineering project, to ensure correct estimation for schedule and budget
• Estimate of labour, material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on request for proposal (RFQ) data submitted by prospective customers and business/channel partners
• Analyze specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bill of material, or sample layouts and calculate production cost using labour and material pricing schedules and historical data
• Study the Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the project and report the summary of contents and requirements, and prepare necessary data and information such as index of ‘documents to be submitted’ in most timely manner
• Prepare or check correspondences in connection with the proposal to the Customers and Business/Channel Partners
• Collaborate with vendors, potential clients and internal project leads to provide correct tender price to ensure successful implementation of projects within budget
• Liaise with other operational areas in the organization (e.g. sales, design, detail) to secure specialized resources and contribution for the project tender process
• Assist to develop proposal strategy, procedures and documents, and maintain the records for future project references
• Perform, other than all of the above, whatever duties entrusted by the Sales Manager in respect of the proposal related activities
Requirements
• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying (QS), Civil/Structural Engineering, or equivalent
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in reviewing bid documents and making technical proposals; preferably in steel building or construction industry
• Extensive knowledge of products, designs, manufacturing, and erection processes and procedures
• Independent and organized, with positive work attitude
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office, Excel and AutoCAD is a must
