Production Technician
About this position
The Technician is responsible for the safe execution of day-to-day operations, monitoring machines and equipment for smooth operation of the production plant, and supporting the Plant Operations team in achieving the organization's mission, vision, and goals.
Responsibilities
• Operates safely within NatureWorks policies, procedures and governmental regulations and fully participates in and champions NatureWorks Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Programs.
• Ensures the EH&S and Industrial Hygiene Programs are being followed and provides a safe working environment to our employees, contractors, and customers.
• Accountable for building a strong safety culture and actively pursues it daily, identifies unsafe behaviors and conditions and intervenes to mitigate incidents.
• Understands and applies environmental, health and safety regulations and policies.
• Participate in safety programs, training and drills to increase safety self awareness.
• Engages with the operations team to operate plant equipment daily.
• Monitors and operates plant using the computer process control system.
• Makes adjustment and / or changes to the process and utilities both inside and outside of the control room as required.
• Monitors and accurately records system parameters using various computer-based systems.
• Thoroughly documents shift activities in operating log sheet / book and computer-based record (if need).
• Proactively uses knowledge and experience to identify problems, develop relevant facts, formulate alternative solutions, decides on appropriate conclusions, and implement corrective actions, troubleshoots, and corrects process problems.
• Uses ingenuity and applies knowledge to recommend changes which could result in improved productivity, safety, and environmental performance.
Requirements
• Commitment to monitor all machines and equipment for smooth operation of the production plant.
• Responsible for personal and plant safety, environmental compliance, strictly follow the shift schedule and operate follow the company procedures.
• Continuous improvement in the quality of our product.
• Execute all DCS and site activities, complete the log sheet / book, finding the abnormality and carries out other instruction and report to Shift Leader.
• Cost control efforts and efficient operations of the plant.
• This position requires working in 12-hour shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
