Senior Lab Technician
About this position
Responsibilities
• Ensure documentation and reporting of procedures and results according to the Momentive standards.
• Critically evaluate own and team data and results. Process and analyze results, monitor results. Present, explain, and discuss results with the team, project team, or other departments.
• Provide feedback and technical support to other areas in the organization.
• Liaison with the customers laboratory personnel (where applicable) to resolve analytical issues.
• Participate in maintaining the facilities, equipment, and safety in the labs daily task. To ensure compliance with regulations, procedures, and policies.
• Co-ordinate updating of laboratory standard operating procedures.
• Reporting of any quality and safety issues in the laboratory.
• Assist in the management team by conducting internal audits for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 (which include inspections of plants, goods, or documents such as work instructions), EHS audits, and customer audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Work under EHS rules and regulation.
• Resolves quality and safety issues in the laboratory.
• Trains and provides guidance to new technicians, monitoring the performance of junior staff.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by QC Supervisor/QC Engineer.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Petrochemicals or related fields.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in laboratory or production process.
• Computer literacy and fair command of English communication.
• Good work, discipline and hands-on. Team player with customer focused and solution-oriented mindset.
• Safety and Quality mindset.
• Knowledge of analytical chemistry, organic chemistry and polymer chemistry is a plus.
• Familiar with chemical lab test equipment.
• Experience with analytical instrumentation and analytical data analysis.
• Knowledge of SAP and Quality Management System, e.g. ISO/TS16949, ISO9001 or ISO14001 is preferred.
• Able to handle hazardous material in a safe manner with proper analytical techniques.
• Excellent oral and writing skills required for communication of data to both technical and non-technical audiences.
