About this position

The Assistant Manager, Cost Accounting is responsible for analyzing costs, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial policies while supervising cost-related decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing costs by studying historical data, identifying trends in expenses, and recommending cost reduction strategies.
• Manage and review the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
• Monitoring budgets and expenses to ensure compliance with company policies
• Supervising all areas of cost-related decision-making inside a business
• Manage all accounting operations in A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting and Inventories.
• Responsible for timely and accurate completion of quarterly financial consolidation and adherence to close schedule
• Manage and comply with local and government reporting requirements and tax filings (BOI, Large Taxpayers Office, etc.)
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls (J-sox)
• Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce/eliminate rework and error in management of information
• Communicate well and explain clearly with auditor (KPMG)

Requirements

• At least a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance Graduates.
• Experience over 10 years and at least 5 years in management role. (Senior accountant, Chief Accountant or Manager in a large-scale, international or Japanese manufacturing would be advantage)
• Plan and execute training and team development activities if applicable
• Team Management (10-15 members).
• Language Proficiency – Thai and English Language
• Japanese communication skill and CPD holder would be special considered
• Provide team support, resolution of complex issues, definition of standards and approaches, planning, and internal/external client relationship management.
• Goal-oriented individual with strong time and task management
• Organized and methodical person with logical approach in addressing issues and strong analytical skills
• Positive approach in supporting customer & company needs
• Ability to solve urgent matters and work under pressure
• Ability to impose a proactive spirit in the team
• Proficient in MS Office and an ERP system (AS400/SAP is advantage)
• Verify calculations, allocations, etc. and checks or obtains information for incorrect or incomplete documents
