About this position

Midea Group is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide legal support for its operations in Thailand, focusing on various legal matters including corporate governance, employment, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for Midea’s growing operations, including manufacturing and sales in Thailand.
• Provide legal support for day-to-day matters as well as projects and initiatives on a broad range of issues including corporate governance, employment, E-business, regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of contracts.
• Manage litigation matters with external lawyers.
• Support for investigations and audits (internal & external) where relevant to the Legal function.
• Collaborate with the subject matter experts (SMEs) in HQ to manage product safety and regulatory compliance issues.
• Support for the operations and digital establishment in APAC Legal team.

Requirements

• A Bachelor or Master Degree.
• Law degree and license to practice law in Thailand.
• 5-10 years’ working experience as a lawyer or an in-house counsel, or a combination thereof.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Business acumen, with the ability to balance commercial and legal considerations to deliver commercial solutions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Flexibility to work in different locations from time to time, up to 20%. We have factories in Rayong, Pathumthani, Nonthaburi, Ayuthaya and Chonburi.
• Working experience at multinational companies or leading law firms (preferred).
• Study abroad experience (preferred).
• Proactive with the ability to manage priorities, be organized, methodical, and perform well under high pressure and tight deadlines (preferred).
• Proficiency in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders (preferred).
