System Engineer (Linux)
About this position
This role involves server-side operations and troubleshooting tasks that support business-critical and development activities. Linux engineers also configure user access and monitor system stability and security throughout deployment and everyday use.
Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems and servers.
• Monitor system performance, including CPU usage, memory utilization, disk space, and network connectivity.
• Perform regular system maintenance tasks such as applying updates, patches, and security configurations.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Implement security measures to protect systems from threats and vulnerabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine tasks and improving system efficiency.
• Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to Linux administration
Requirements
• 0-6 years work experience on Operating system Linux Servers.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineer, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience as a Linux Administrator or in a similar role.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g.VMware) and containerization platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Having knowledge in shell scripting (Bash) or experience with other scripting languages (e.g., Python) would be beneficial.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE) are a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
