About this position

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for assessing and qualifying suppliers, conducting audits, developing quality control plans, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Assess and qualify potential suppliers based on their capabilities, quality management systems, and adherence to industry standards.
• Conduct regular supplier audits to evaluate and monitor their processes, quality controls, and compliance with contractual requirements.
• Develop and implement quality control plans and inspection protocols for incoming materials and components.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure continuous improvement.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and production, to communicate quality expectations and address supplier-related issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis for supplier-related defects and non-conformities, and work with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in supplier quality engineering or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes and materials.
• Experience in working with global suppliers and managing international supplier relationships is an advantage.
• Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives through supplier collaboration.
