Product Development Scientist
About this position
To support R&D Team for product development in Coatings and Food Processors. Product Development Technologist will play a key role in designing, developing, and commercializing innovative products for our customers, focusing on seasonings and value-added coating systems. This role involves working closely with customers, internal teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality product solutions while ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
• Develops and/or duplicates products as focusing on seasonings and value-added coating systems (Marinade, Predust, Batter, Breader) per assigned project brief and ensures that these products are suitable for manufacture including product prototype and process, stability study and shelf life study of all new commercial products. And lead and manage projects from initiation through to successful commercialization, ensuring timely follow-up and execution.
• Proactive Product Demo, Presentation of new products and consumer/ market trend including visit customer to discuss about project and provide them the technical support.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive technical understanding of key customer segments, including their manufacturing processes, product recipes, New Product Development (NPD) systems, finished products, and brand and development standards.
• This includes ingredient statements, nutritional composition, labeling and packaging requirements where appropriate. Also BRC documents implementation and also working with quality team for HACCP, GMP and Halal.
• Transfer knowledge of all new or modified processes and product improvement to QA, Production and relevant department to ensure that products produced meet customer requirement including supervises trials or first time production runs during new product commercialization including setting and writing instruction process of production machine.
• Provides technical support and advice to both internal and external customers and other team members in term of ability to repeat processes to ensure consistency and safety. Also Interacts with suppliers and ingredient consultants to keep abreast of new products and technologies.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in product development, preferably from companies working with processed meat, poultry, fish, meat alternatives, or ingredient companies specializing in food dry blends, seasonings, and coating applications. Candidates with dual experience in processed meat and food dry blends will be given special consideration.
• Significant experience in meat product application, ingredient manufacturing, and processing.
• Strong knowledge of food science, including additives and functional ingredients.
• Understanding of nutrition and the meat industry’s product categories such as process aids and functional ingredients.
• Ability to independently plan and execute technical work, aligning with strategic business plans and managing stakeholders.
