Production Engineer (PakChong Based)
About this position
The Production Engineer role is responsible for making the production process as efficient as possible and it is a feeder role for future Production Leads and Shift Managers. To be a successful Production Engineer you need to be an independent thinker and a keen problem solver.
Responsibilities
As a Mars Associate you have an obligation to:
• Provide for a Safe Workplace
• Role model the application of Mars Health and Safety standards in order to safeguard our associates and the assets we use through the Lead Safety @ Mars Program
• Provide a safe workplace for all individuals (associates, contractors and visitors) and ensure safe work practices are always followed
• Coach, inspire and role model the application of Mars safety standards within the site in order to safeguard our associates and the assets we use
• Provide for Safe Products
• Role model the application of Mars Food Safety and Quality Standards in order to ensure safe products to our consumers
• Coach, inspire and role model the application of the Mars Quality Principle
Production Engineer Responsibilities
FMOS
• Compile production information and develop Daily FMOS Meeting inputs
• Manage and follow up on FMOS meeting outputs
• Managing the FMOS Tag system for the shift
• Ensure Crew Map deployment within each shift based on the Crew Maps deployed for each Value Stream by the Site IE Lead
• Conduct Line Tours with the Shift Manager and review shift performance against established KPI’s
• Support Shift Manager to organize team meetings
Leading CI Projects
• Deploy and lead the focused improvement projects in the respective shifts with support from Site CI team
• Represent Shift Manager and/or Shift at Focused Improvement Team Meetings
Develop Safety, Quality and Production OPL’s & Work Instructions
• Developing LOTO and Minor Intervention instructions for each piece of equipment with input from Operators and HSE
• Develop CCP, OPRP and other quality assurance work instructions and OPL’s with input from Q&FS
• Conduct line tours to monitor Daily Safety Compliance in the shift and report any unsafe operations and practices to the Shift Manager
• Assist Shift Manager to investigate any safety incidents that occur during the shift
• Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for process equipment
Reduce Waste & NQC
• Compile, analyze and generate reports of floor waste produced on each shift
• Lead floor waste / NQC reduction initiatives with support from Site CI Team
Requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in manufacturing or production environments
• Knowledge of safety and quality standards in food production
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
