Senior Safety Specialist (Food manufacturing)
About this position
The Senior HSE specialist plays a key role in establishing and maintaining the health and safety of all people on the PCH site. This will be achieved through monitoring and evaluating health and safety conditions, assuring compliance with Mars Health Safety and Environmental Standards and Thai Safety and Health Regulations.
Responsibilities
As a Mars Associate you have an obligation to:
• Coach, inspire and role model the application of Mars health safety and environmental standards within the site in order to safeguard our associates and the assets we use through the Lead Safety @ Mars Program.
• Apply the Mars Food Safety and Quality Standards in order to ensure safe products to our consumers.
• Role model the use and application of the Mars 5 Principles.
• Develop - Work closely with Shift Managers and Reliability Managers to develop solid understanding of HSE Policies and Procedures among all associates in Operations and Technical Teams.
• Engage - Mentoring and coaching all shift managers, site associates and contractors to understand HSE priorities, procedures and to perform their routine to align with Mars safety health and environmental management system.
• Develop and implement HSE Policies and Procedures within the PCH HSE framework to meet or exceed the Mars Global HSE Standard and local Safety and Health regulations.
• Provide guidance and coaching to all functional and people leaders on site to ensure their functions and teams comply to site HSE Policies and Procedures.
• Monitor all associates, visitors and contractors to ensure they comply to Mars HSE Policies and Procedures at all times.
• Lead the HSE Management system external audits to ensure HSE Management system compliance to ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and LRQA standards.
• Establish and lead the HSE Internal Audit Program for the PCH site.
• Ensure strict compliance to all Mars Life Saving Standards through deployment of local HSE procedures: LOTO, WPT, WAH, HOT work, confined space, electrical safety, machine guarding, contractor management and permit to work standards.
• Follow the PCH Site CAPA process to manage any non-conformances as required.
• Ensure that a robust and highly effective safety committee is managed on site to meet or exceed local government regulatory requirements.
Requirements
• Strong knowledge of HSE policies and procedures.
• Experience in food manufacturing or related industries.
• Proven ability to lead and influence teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and LRQA standards.
• Ability to conduct audits and assessments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
