About this position

The CVS Manager controls the planning and execution of product and business development projects in terms of development, launch execution, and post launch evaluation. The CVS Manager supports all commissioning, validation and start up activities for all projects on site by developing and executing the CVS plan which includes checklists and timelines for the 3 phases (Commissioning, Validation, Start Up), identifying and creating CVS teams, managing, coaching and supporting the CVS teams while working in partnership with the Project Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the successful Commissioning, Validation and Start-up for all major and small minor projects at the site.
• Support and manage all CVS activities including project launch execution and post launch evaluation.
• Manage the learning curve activities and improvements until stable production has been reached.
• Manage the CVS activities including coordination of resources, collaboration with engineering groups, leading cross-functional decision-making teams concerning project activities, developing the CVS plan, creating standard operating procedures and maximizing the operational effectiveness of start-up.
• Develop and execute the CVS plans through the CVS teams including checklists, timelines and include Global Best Practices for Quality & Food Safety.
• Coach and role model the application of Mars safety standards and OH&S regulations to safeguard our associates and assets.
• Communicate with plant management to ensure appropriate resources are in place. (CVS teams, operators etc.).
• Manage, coach, support and direct the CVS teams.
• Create Standard Operating Procedures to maximize operational effectiveness including job descriptions for new positions.
• Transfer equipment knowledge and operation through Factory directed training or personal hands-on training.
• Create detailed work instructions for temporary support for new projects.

Requirements

• Significant interaction with, and engagement of, Associates in all areas of Site Operations.
• Responsible for role modeling and embedding high performance team principals within CVS teams.
• Responsibilities for managing specific training vendors and contractors on site including ensuring the availability of quality training programs.
• Responsibility for planning, organizing and executing systems and equipment related training for technical and operational associates and contract employees.
• Input into choice of vendor and acceptance.
• Review equipment, machinery, processes and systems with references to project business objectives and conformance to technical, regulatory and safety standards.
• TRS performance and shorter learning curves with proper CVS techniques.
• Waste reduction costs during learning curve.
• Recommendations and input to engineering for design and installation for new and existing projects and equipment.
• Collaboration with R&D for process and product development including new flavors.
• Training budget management for new and existing projects.
