About this position

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist is mainly responsible for ensuring compliance with all Pet Nutrition product-related regulatory standards in Indonesia and communicating regulatory knowledge to relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• To ensure the unit complies with all Pet Nutrition product related regulatory standards, including compliance of products sold in Indonesia.
• To monitor and communicate Indonesia regulatory knowledge to SEA SRA Manager and other functions and represent Mars Pet Nutrition in relevant local industry or technical regulatory working groups as required.
1. Ensure all Regulatory Compliance Process (RCP) in Indonesia are followed to ensure regulatory compliance of all petfood products sold in Indonesia. The scope of RCP includes:
• Conduct assessment of Ingredient compliance: To ensure all ingredients of pet food product meet all regulatory requirement and business commitments.
• Conduct assessment Recipe compliance: To ensure raw materials and inclusions in all recipes of pet food product complies with regulatory requirement.
• Generate Legal Text: To identify the legal text that will be displayed on the label complies with regulatory requirement.
• Assess Claims: To ensure all claims use in artwork/labels or stickers have adequate substantiation via the claim substantiation and approval process.
• Assess Finish product: To assess any undesirable substance of finished product with the laboratory analytical report for the product complies with regulatory requirements.
• Assess Label/Artwork: To ensure visual aspects of labels/artwork/sticker (words and claims are approved in previous processes – Assess claim) complies with regulatory requirements.
• Update and Communicate Country Regulatory Specification (CRS): To ensure Indonesia CRS is up to date and monitor and inform proposed/new/revised Pet food regulations and importation requirements to relevant stakeholders as well as assessing business impact regards regulatory change.
• To support all non-regulatory compliance assessments (e.g. PRIMPS) as required for Indonesia.
• Leading the trouble shooting when there is a regulatory noncompliance issue.
• To support regulatory inquiries for Indonesia: Able to provide advice to project team regards any inquiry on regulatory compliance.
2. Support new supply unit (factory) registration to export to Indonesia
• Provide requirements of factory registration in Indonesia and guideline for document preparation to supply unit.
• Laison with supply unit, embassy and Kasmavet for new factory registration.
• Support in resolving any importation issues related to product registration requirements e.g. lab analysis results etc.
• Build regulatory network with Kasmavet via factory process. Seek for the officer advice/clarification on registration requirement and process.
3. To build connections to local Indonesia authorities e.g. Kasmavet as well as represent Mars in local meetings with relevant authorities or petfood industry associations
4. Support knowledge management and process improvements in SEA SRA team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in food science / veterinary services or relevant science background.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role in an FMCG company or related industries.
• Excellent English
