Filling Technical Supervisor
About this position
The Filling Technical Supervisor plays a critical role in maximizing production yield and efficiency within our filling department. This involves managing a team of technicians, implementing maintenance plans, collaborating with other departments, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Production Optimization: Manage filling equipment to achieve maximum yield from the production plan, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, ergonomics, health, and environmental regulations, as well as performance targets.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of technicians, optimizing team organization, conducting performance assessments, and implementing individual and group development plans.
• Performance Management: Drive the achievement of safety, quality, and performance objectives, developing and implementing necessary action plans.
• Maintenance Planning: Collaborate with the packaging supervisor to prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks, aligning with short-term production plans. Define and implement level one and level two maintenance plans and continuously improve their effectiveness.
• Procurement: Ensure that machines and formats are procured in accordance with L’Oréal Group and Purchasing policies (e.g., OPEN, the way we buy).
• Team Communication: Conduct regular workshop meetings, communicate targets and results effectively (both bottom-up and top-down), and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Technician Development: Facilitate the professional development of the technical team through training programs (especially for new hires), knowledge sharing, one-on-one coaching, performance evaluations, and development initiatives.
• Launch Support: Guarantee equipment and line readiness for new product launches, including participation in packaging development meetings.
• Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement within the workshop (applying EOS methodologies), actively involving technicians and operators and promoting self-reliance.
• Methodology Development: Continuously develop knowledge and expertise in continuous improvement methodologies such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
• Proven experience (3+ years) in a technical supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, preferably within the cosmetics or FMCG industry.
• Strong understanding of filling equipment, maintenance procedures, and quality control processes.
• Experience with implementing and managing continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., TPM, Lean Manufacturing).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
