About this position

The Sovereign Cloud Security Operation Engineer is responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of cloud infrastructure within a sovereign environment. This role involves implementing security measures, monitoring for threats, and responding to security incidents while adhering to local regulations. The engineer will work closely with crossfunctional teams to enhance the security posture of cloud operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage cloud security posture and threat detection.
• Implement and maintain security controls in compliance with local data sovereignty regulations.
• Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and vulnerability scans.
• Respond to security incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security best practices into workflows.
• Maintain security documentation and incident response procedures.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging threats in cloud security.

Requirements

• Minimum D3 in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
• Have experience designing and managing secure access control using Google Cloud IAM.
• Have experience of implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA).
• Understanding role-based access controls (RBAC).
• Experience in managing encryption for data at rest and in transit using Google Cloud KMS.
• Experience of Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Security Command Center.
