About this position

Transport Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management performance of both own base fleet and sub-contractors. Transport Operations Manager must maintain a safe working environment, manage and mitigate site risks and ensure overall site compliance in line with company, customer and regulatory standards. Also can improve operations activity to reach customer’s requirement and liaison with operation team to ensure that the operations will be run in smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Initiative of transport cost saving and new project. Process and transport development
• Coach the team, one to one, to improve Distribution standards and operations
• Work with staff and customers to reduce our impact on the environment by using less energy and reducing, re-using and recycling waste
• To ensure enough truck and trailer and drivers base on the plan from resources planning
• To ensure driver of sub-contractors be able to follow our safety standard without compromise
• To seek the sub-contractors that able to trust and fit to our standard and also provide truck and trailer in standard
• Forecast the volume vs capability of base fleet and plan the quantity of external fleet to serve Peak season
• Negotiate to get the good deal and quality service from Sub-contractors
• Liaison with legal team to make the sub-contractors service contract comply Thai law
• Communicate and cooperate with the site transport managements to realize the volume and plan to support operation to have an operation smooth in daily
• Escalate an issue to the business with accurate information in time
• To have enough primes, trailers as well as sub-contractors to satisfy customer demand with the minimum operating costs
• Monitoring the turnaround time of sub-contractor fleet and manage to improve as require
• To ensure that right amount and type of trailers are located at the right DC at the right time
• Initiative an assessment measures to screen sub-contractors as reliable and standard and criteria of performance appraisal to put in place
• Maintain a relation with sub-contractors to be our business partner

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Transport Management, or any related fields
• Extensive experience of analytical in transportation volume and manage sub-contractor
• Strong technical knowledge of transportation operating methods and equipment requirements
• Knowledge of overall supply chain with focus on store operations and transport industry
• Customer service experience and skills
• Extensive background comprising of on the job training, work experience, administrative systems and specific skills development within a retail environment
• Have knowledge in negotiation and budgeting
• Staff management experience including negotiation and communication skills
• Excellent command of both spoken and written English
• Advance Excel for data analytics
