About this position

The Manufacturing Engineer (Chemical) position involves supporting production activities related to chemical processes, supervising technicians, establishing standards, and driving process improvements to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals.

Responsibilities

•To support production activities concerning to chemical relation for example Chemical milling, Chemical analysis, Nickle plating and coating, to ensure stable of the production process and to help achieve department goals and/or KPI’s matrices.
•Supervise Chemical engineering technician to control day-to-day process parameter and Chemical analysis.
•Establish engineering, production and quality control standards to meet with quality and customer requirements.
•Identify and implement opportunities for improving workplace safety and ergonomics as well as process efficiency and product quality.
•Ensure all established safety, quality, delivery and cost commitments are met.
•Perform administrative activities associated with the effective management of the shop floor, including compiling, storing and retrieving production data for reports.
•Establish a production activity plan and report daily/weekly/monthly basis against the plan.
•Be able to stand by in case of production problems which need to be fixed on urgent basis.
•Enable and support training initiatives that ensure all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company policies, government regulations, and customer policies/requirements, procedures and regulations.
•Identify and drive process improvement opportunities that will result in improved labor efficiency, productivity, promote cost reduction and etc. Provide technical support to the team through the specification, requirement, equipment and/or methods required.
•Support process audit from external certification bodies and customer.
•Work upon supervisor’s assignments or any other job duties as assign.

Requirements

•Bachelor degree in Chemical, Production Engineering and/or related field; advanced degree highly desirable.
•More than 3 years of experience in manufacturing industrial and supervisor role with responsibility in leading production team with a track record of delivering successful results.
•Have knowledge and experience in chemical processing and chemical analysis in area of Manufacturing will be advantage.
•Good command of English language in reading, written and oral communication are required.
•Good command of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point); other tools like, E-mail, Outlook.
•Having experience in areas of Chemical Processing (Etching, Mixing), Glass Coating, Nickle plating, or Laboratory will be advantage.
•Experience in improving process, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and other Continuous Improvement methodologies required.
•Leadership skills including supervisory, decision making, coaching, problem-solving, planning, teambuilding, presentation, analytical and strategic skills.
•Ability to effectively communication skills to all levels of the organization both internal and external.
•Other required personal skills include co-ordination, coaching/mentoring skills, delegation & follow-through ability and prioritize work load.
