Cost Controller
About this position
The Cost Controller is responsible for proposing and building cost controlling strategies, managing cost risks, ensuring accurate production cost capture, and achieving timely financial reporting while maintaining accounting quality.
Responsibilities
• Propose and build cost controlling strategies from the bottom up, initiate measures with regard cost management and control.
• Sharply and accurately identify cost risks and opportunities; and drive alignment around operational and financial actions to either minimize or mitigate risks.
• Works closely with production to ensure accurate and timely capture of all production costs and variances.
• Achieve real time monthly closing without compromising accounting quality and accuracy – including accruals, cost center and cost unit accounting. Running variance analysis of performance, and preparation of management reports.
• Reconciliation of ERP systems and work towards full alignment, building visualization reporting and analysis – improve efficiency and presentation of data retrieved from ERP systems.
• Assisting the Head of Finance & Controlling in the direction of the accounting functions. Ensuring timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements.
• Handle and oversee all day-to-day general ledger, special ledgers transactions and bank reconciliations.
• Ensuring all level of posting and closing quality in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to be prepared, taking into account all relevant accounting standards and internal group requirements.
• Ensure all accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis, review and approve those reconciliations.
• Preventing inaccuracies in financial statements by setting up internal control systems and adopting proper policies for financial reporting.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or higher in Finance/Accounting.
• At least 10 years work experience in finance and accounting field with multi-national manufacturing environment and at least 3 experiences in supervisory level or senior accounting position in Costing.
• Knowledge on cost calculation and allocation of expenses.
• Knowledge in BOI regulations and reporting.
• CPD holder is required.
• Auditing background is a plus.
• Experience and knowledge with accounting software as well as ERP System.
• Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Familiar with Thai accounting standards and tax laws and regulations.
• Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas).
• Strong leadership skill.
• Fast learner with the ability to understand and handle multi-tasks and processes quickly.
• Problem-solving attitude and be able to manage a team.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills both written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical skills to create detailed financial reports and forecasts.
• Self-motivated, open-minded, and innovative thinking.
