Psychology Teacher and Class Advisor
About this position
Responsibilities
• Teaching: Deliver engaging and effective Psychology lessons to high school students for 6-9 periods a week.
• Curriculum Planning: Develop and implement teaching plans aligned with the school’s academic guidelines, including syllabus design, lesson planning, and post-teaching reflections.
• Assessment & Evaluation: Assess students' performance through various methods, including grading assignments, creating and marking exams, aligned with the regulations and policies of the school, Thai education authorities, and Australian education authorities.
• Monitor Progress: Track and analyze student performance to identify learning outcomes and areas for improvement.
• Professional Development: Participate in training sessions to enhance teaching skills, class management, and assessment methods as required by Australian education authorities and the school.
• Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with subject teachers and related staff to ensure smooth operations and academic support.
• Student Progress Monitoring: Oversee students’ academic progress, behavior, and portfolio development to support their academic and personal growth.
• Parent Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents to update them on their child's academic progress and behavior.
• Activity Supervision: Supervise students during the school's activities including clubs and off-site activities.
• Evaluation and Assessment: Evaluate guidance activities and assess physical education subjects based on curriculum standards and learning outcomes.
• Other assigned tasks related to students and parents.
Requirements
• Thai national with strong proficiency in English.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology or related fields.
• Be able to teach Psychology in English to high-school students.
• English proficiency (preferred scores: TOEIC 900+, TOEFL iBT 90+, IELTS 6.5+).
• Strong understanding of educational evaluation methods aligned with curriculum standards.
• Experience in counseling high school students on academic, emotional, and life management aspects.
• Strong communication skills, including with parents.
• Ability to supervise students during classes and activities.
• Basic first aid skills preferred.
• Knowledge of student evaluation and grading for subjects and activities.
• Strong cultural sensitivity and the ability to foster an inclusive environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
