About this position

The FMCG Retail Buyer in Jakarta is responsible for negotiating with suppliers, analyzing market trends, collaborating on promotional strategies, monitoring inventory, assessing product performance, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, Trading Terms, while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Analyze market trends, sales data, and customer preferences to identify new product opportunities and adjust the product mix accordingly.
• Collaborate with horizontal teams to develop and implement effective promotional strategies for FMCG products.
• Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and coordinate with logistics to ensure timely delivery and minimize stockouts.
• Assess product performance regularly, making recommendations for discontinuation or improvement of assortment based on sales and customer feedback.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring all purchasing activities adhere to local and company policies.

Requirements

• Having Bachelor's degree
• More than five years of experience in FMCG industry, preferably in a retail environment.
• Proven negotiation skills and the ability to secure advantageous contracts with suppliers.
• Solid understanding of the Indonesian FMCG market and its consumers.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with teams.
• Experience in analyzing market trends, sales data, and forecasting demand.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Intermediate skill in Excel and Powerpoint.
