EHS Supervisor (Team Management)
About this position
The Supervisor (EHS) will support the Operation Manager in implementing and monitoring environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This role involves the management of EHS compliance, risk assessment, incident investigation, and the development of safety protocols. The Assistant Manager will oversee EHS projects, conduct training sessions, and foster a safety-first culture, contributing to the organization’s goal of a hazard-free and eco-friendly workplace.
Responsibilities
• Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
• Ensure adherence to environmental regulations (RoHS, REACH) and safety standards (OSHA, ISO 45001).
• Maintain accurate records of safety audits, inspections, incidents, and environmental impact assessments.
• Monitor changes in EHS laws and standards, updating internal policies and procedures as needed.
• Environmental Management
• Oversee hazardous waste management, air quality control, and resource conservation projects.
• Manage data on emissions, waste, and water usage to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Risk Assessment and Incident Investigation
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports with corrective actions.
• Implement safety controls and procedures to reduce accident rates and manage environmental risks.
• EHS Program Development
• Assist in developing EHS programs and training content for employees.
• Organize training sessions and workshops on hazard communication, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and emergency response.
• Lead EHS initiatives and campaigns to improve awareness and engagement with safety practices.
• Supervision and Team Leadership
• Supervise EHS staff, providing guidance on tasks and performance feedback to ensure EHS protocols are upheld.
• Delegate responsibilities within the team, overseeing progress and supporting goal achievement.
• Serve as a resource for resolving EHS-related concerns and addressing team issues.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to integrate EHS requirements into operational processes.
• Coordinate with external agencies and regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by working with cross-functional teams to analyze and enhance EHS programs.
• Safety Culture Development
• Promote a positive safety culture by encouraging proactive safety practices and hazard reporting.
• Act as an EHS role model, setting expectations for safe practices and accountability within the team.
• Engage employees in safety-related discussions and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Proven experience in EHS management or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
