Sustainability Specialist
About this position
The Sustainability Specialist will be responsible for researching and monitoring developments in climate change and sustainability, leading compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and educating staff on sustainability practices.
Responsibilities
• Research and monitor knowhow and new developments in Climate Change pertaining to bank’s operations addressing Credit (Commercial and Retail), Market, Liquidity and Operational Risks
• Research and monitor sustainability developments in other areas eg. Biodiversity, Pollution and Social
• Study and lead the team working on laws, regulations and guidelines which have implication in banking business eg. Climate Change Acts, Carbon Credit Market, Thailand Taxonomy, Customer’s Carbon Emissions application, BOT & SEC guidelines, IFC’s Standard Practice and so on.
• Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff about sustainability practices and policies.
• Participate in several Campaigns and Initiatives eg. Principles of Responsible Banking (UN’s PRB), Equator Principles, IFC Green / Blue Bond, and Bank-wide transition plan as well as sectoral transition plan.
• Support team members and share / provide knowledge and knowhow to meet team’s goals.
• Continuously seek ways to enhance the bank’s sustainability risk management and integrate new best practices.
Requirements
• Bachelor or master’s in science or environmental engineering
• Direct experience in financial services industry or Consultants would be key advantage.
• Professional certifications (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001, CFA ESG or GARP SCR) would be a plus.
• Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, S2).
• Proficiency in English presentation and writing.
• Communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong.
