Supply Chain Management (SCM) Manager
About this position
The SCM Manager will lead and manage the entire supply chain process, from procurement and production to inventory management and logistics. The role focuses on ensuring that the supply chain operates smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with the company’s goals. The SCM Manager is responsible for developing strategies to optimize the supply chain, improve supplier relationships, and ensure timely delivery of products.
Responsibilities
• Supply Chain Strategy Development:
• Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with the company’s overall business goals.
• Continuously analyze and improve supply chain processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
• Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them.
2.Procurement and Supplier Management:
• Oversee the procurement of materials and services necessary for production.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with key suppliers to ensure the quality and timely delivery of goods.
3.Inventory and Production Management:
• Manage inventory levels to ensure that they are aligned with production needs and customer demand.
• Implement inventory control processes to minimize waste and reduce carrying costs.
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure that manufacturing schedules meet demand forecasts.
4.Logistics and Distribution:
• Oversee logistics operations, including the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods.
• Optimize logistics networks to reduce transportation costs and improve delivery times.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
5.Demand Planning and Forecasting:
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to develop accurate demand forecasts.
• Align supply chain activities with demand forecasts to ensure product availability.
• Monitor market trends and adjust supply chain strategies as needed.
6.Process Improvement and Innovation:
• Lead initiatives to improve supply chain processes, implement best practices, and adopt new technologies.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement.
• Stay informed about industry trends and innovations that can enhance supply chain performance.
7.Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with other departments, such as finance, sales, and production, to ensure alignment and coordination across the supply chain.
• Participate in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to ensure that supply chain strategies support business objectives.
8.Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
• Manage team performance, set goals, and provide regular feedback and development opportunities.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 5+ years of experience.
