Product Development Assistant Manager
About this position
The Assistant Manager, Product Development, will support the Product Development Manager in overseeing the development and optimization of new and existing products, ensuring all projects meet performance, cost, and reliability standards. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing multiple projects, and ensuring timely execution of development plans. The Assistant Manager will also manage resources, streamlining processes, delegating assignments to team members, monitoring the output of the team members and decide the directions of the projects. The Product Development Assistance Manager also provide the training program to improve knowledge or quality of work of the team member.
Responsibilities
• Support the Product Development Manager in strategic planning, budgeting and in developing long-term product development roadmaps.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
• Collaborating with all stakeholders to review project feasibility, work with Product development manager to plan out the resource to meet the project target.
• Organizing and delegating assignments to team members. Support and solving the technical issue/problem or negotiation issue for the members, and make sure the project can be completed per target.
• Conduct regular project reviews, identifying risks and mitigating them proactively.
• Summary/analysis/conclusions of the project status, and judgement for next action.
• Oversee and maintain product certification processes to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Manage weekly to meet the predetermine target (KPI) and generate weekly report for manager.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members, providing guidance on best practices in product development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Keep abreast of trends and changes in the ventilation standards and industry. Attend seminars and improve technical and market knowledge base as needed.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related fields; specializations in aerodynamics, material science, or structural engineering are highly desirable.
• 3+ years of experience in product development, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong technical expertise in product design, testing, and certification processes.
• Proven project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team of engineers.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Competent knowledge of engineering software, e.g. 3D/2D CAD FEA etc.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding teams through product development phases, from concept to launch.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
