Buyer Officer / Section Manager
About this position
The Buyer Officer / Section Manager is responsible for overseeing the purchasing department, ensuring effective procurement processes, and achieving cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities
• Follow up KPI & Target.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of purchasing trends, practices, and procedures.
• Monitor market conditions to identify opportunities for cost savings or improved quality.
• Analyze supplier proposals, negotiating prices and terms as necessary to achieve the best possible outcome for the company.
• Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures in accordance with company guidelines.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the purchasing department, including supervising staff and overseeing the workflow.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of all purchases, contracts, and pricing information.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets for the purchasing department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or similar role.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
• Good command in English, can use Chinese language to communicate will be an advantage.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation (Cost Analysis, Benchmark, Sourcing New Model), and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience leading and managing a team of buyers.
• Able to communicate effectively with suppliers and other employees to ensure that the company’s needs are met and that the purchasing team is working efficiently.
