Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Set goals, track performance, and provide feedback to ensure alignment with the company's vision and objectives.
• Identify training needs and promote professional growth within the team to enhance both technical expertise and creativity.
• Drive the ideation, development, and launch of new food products that meet evolving consumer tastes and trends for both local and international markets.
• Manage a pipeline of innovative products, balancing short-term and long-term development goals.
• Stay informed about industry trends, consumer preferences, and emerging ingredients to introduce new flavors, textures, and product lines.
• Conduct research to identify market gaps and assess competitor offerings, using insights to guide product innovation and differentiation strategies.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align R&D efforts with customer needs and industry trends, ensuring strong market potential for new products.
• Oversee the development and implementation of product specifications to ensure new products meet JD Food’s quality standards and comply with food safety regulations.
• Work with quality assurance and regulatory teams to maintain compliance throughout the R&D process.
• Work closely with production, supply chain, and marketing departments to ensure successful product development and a seamless transition from concept to commercial launch.
• Engage with external partners, suppliers, and research institutions to stay at the forefront of technology and innovation in the food industry.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery of new products within allocated budgets.
• Conduct post-launch reviews to evaluate new product success and identify improvement areas for future projects.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in R&D within the food industry, with a strong focus on product innovation and new food trends.
• Proven experience in managing and developing a team.
• Track record of successfully launching new products and staying ahead of market trends.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards.
