Head of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)
About this position
The Head of ESG is responsible for developing and implementing ESG strategies aligned with the organization’s goals, leading initiatives, ensuring compliance with standards, and managing stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
• Formulate and implement ESG strategies aligned with the organization’s business goals and international standards.
• Create a comprehensive ESG roadmap to achieve sustainability targets, such as Net Zero, Circular Economy, or Diversity & Inclusion.
• Collaborate with senior management to integrate ESG principles into core business operations.
• Lead projects related to environmental sustainability, such as carbon footprint reduction, energy efficiency, and natural resource conservation.
• Develop social responsibility initiatives, including community development, employee safety, and promoting workplace equality.
• Strengthen corporate governance through improved transparency, compliance, and risk management practices.
• Establish ESG data collection frameworks and ensure compliance with global standards like GRI, SASB, TCFD, or SDGs.
• Prepare and communicate ESG performance in sustainability reports, annual reports, and other publications.
• Analyze ESG metrics to provide insights for strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with internal departments, such as HR, Marketing, and Supply Chain, to foster awareness and engagement on ESG initiatives.
• Represent the organization in national and international forums, such as conferences, partnerships with NGOs, and engagements with policymakers.
• Lead and manage the ESG team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Oversee the ESG budget and resources to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7-10 years of senior-level experience in ESG, CSR, or sustainability roles.
• Strong understanding of ESG standards, frameworks, and performance assessments, such as ESG Ratings, CDP, or DJSI.
• Leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in ESG data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and develop creative solutions to complex problems.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including climate change policies, human rights, and labor standards.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
