Casework Officer (National Position)
About this position
The Casework Officer position at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) involves assisting eligible refugee applicants in preparing case files for adjudication by USCIS officers. The role requires adherence to established resettlement policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
• Learn and implement established IRC Resettlement Support Centre (RSC Asia), Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM), United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and Refugee Processing Centre (RPC) policies and procedures.
• Conduct prescreening interviews and case updates of refugee applicants in accordance with USRAP guidelines and the cooperative agreement.
• Provide support to USCIS Circuit Rides, including roll call, case composition updates, file review, decision letter preparation, and distribution.
• Implement comprehensive quality control of documentation and ensuring all required documents are available, verified and updated in START.
• Keep immediate supervisor informed of developments in daily caseloads.
Requirements
• Thorough knowledge of established resettlement policies and procedures regarding current refugee processing eligibility criteria.
• Familiarity with database and file management guidelines.
• Understanding of the role of US Resettlement Agencies and refugee-producing country conditions.
• Ability to conduct prescreening interviews and case updates in accordance with USRAP guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure comprehensive quality control of documentation.
