Plating Engineer
About this position
The Plating Engineer is responsible for developing and refining plating processes for jewelry manufacturing, optimizing solutions, and ensuring quality control.
Responsibilities
• Develop and refine plating processes for various jewelry manufacturing techniques.
• Create and optimize plating solutions by selecting appropriate chemicals, concentrations, and operating conditions to achieve desired plating characteristics.
• Perform regular chemical analysis of plating baths and finished products to assess the composition, concentration, and overall quality of the plating solutions.
• Optimizing the plating process parameters such as temperature, pH, current density, and plating time to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance the quality of the plated jewelry.
• Identifying the root cause, investigating the problem, and implementing corrective actions in case issues arise in the plating process.
• Research and development to explore new plating techniques, improve existing processes, or develop novel formulations to enhance the company's competitive edge.
• Control metallization and demetalization process.
• Control and analyse plating scrap from plating process and scrap from stripping process.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, other types of engineering or related field and/or Sound Experience and/or knowledge in Electroplating.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in gem and jewelry institute.
• Problem solving and decision making under limited timeframe and resources.
• Good command in English.
