Process Engineer – Project Development
About this position
Responsibilities
• Process Evaluation & Optimization
• Assess and compare various process design schemes for new chemical manufacturing plants.
• Evaluate potential process risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
• Participate in design reviews with licensors and consultants.
• Capital Expenditure Analysis
• Support the Project Head in preparing and analyzing CAPEX proposals.
• Develop cost-benefit analyses to inform decisions on project schemes and designs.
• Assist in the financial evaluation of investment options and make recommendations based on CAPEX evaluations.
• Project Development Support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the licensors, technology department, production, and external consultants, to ensure alignment on project objectives.
• Prepare project documentation, such as process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
• Participate in project reviews and provide insights on process optimizations.
• Support the project engineers and managers with any information required from the client side.
• Regulatory Compliance Oversight
• Ensure that regulatory compliance activities are being addressed by relevant teams, with regular follow-up and tracking.
• Coordinate with internal compliance teams and external consultants to verify that all necessary approvals and standards are met.
• Conduct feasibility studies on various operational and design choices to support compliance efforts.
• Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
• Prepare and present technical reports, including process analysis results, CAPEX evaluations, and recommendations.
• Maintain clear communication with the Project Head and other team members to ensure alignment on project goals.
• Support the project head in managing multiple projects.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably within chemical/petrochemicals manufacturing or a similar industry.
• Strong background in project development and CAPEX evaluation.
• Excellent analytical skills.
