Design Engineer ( Wire Harness )
About this position
The Design Engineer will develop and implement creative design solutions for a variety of projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet technical specifications and customer needs. Reporting to the Design Engineering Manager, this role offers the opportunity to collaborate on prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure successful project execution. This position provides a great opportunity to contribute to innovative design projects and work with a dynamic team to bring ideas to life.
Responsibilities
• Manage production files for new products from quotation to full production.
• Interpret customer drawings and create internal manufacturing documentation.
• Develop and verify Bills of Materials in drawings and the ERP system.
• Validate physical parts against customer specifications and resolve issues.
• Escalate deviations to the project manager and customer for validation.
• Prepare cutting data, including lengths and crimping parameters.
• Write assembly instructions and training documentation for operators.
• Create technical drawings using AutoCAD for manufacturing support.
• Identify necessary tools and machines for production readiness.
• Utilize ERP systems (SAP) to manage component data and research suppliers.
Requirements
• Open to new graduates or experienced design engineers in industrial engineering or electrical harness assembly.
• Degree in Electrical/Electronic or Industrial Engineering required for new graduates or candidates with less than 2 years of experience.
• Experience in using ERP systems (preferably SAP is a plus).
• Mandatory experience in CAD design.
• Experience with wire harness design software is a plus (e.g., Arcadia by CADONIX).
• Intermediate level of English proficiency.
• Proficient in creating organized and clean documentation using Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of crimping standards
