Responsibilities
• Install and configure database servers and related software to meet organizational requirements.
• Regularly monitor database performance and implement necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency.
• Develop, implement, and manage robust backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity.
• Implement and maintain database security protocols, including user authentication and access controls, to protect sensitive information.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and maintain efficient database schemas and data models.
• Assess and plan for future database growth and scalability to accommodate organizational needs.
• Provide timely support for database-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving problems as they arise.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Ensure all database operations comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with IT staff, developers, and other stakeholders to support and enhance database-related functions.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on (specific databases, e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
• Proficiency in database management systems and related tools.
• Strong understanding of data backup, recovery, security, and integrity.
• Experience with database design, documentation, and coding.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery options for databases.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions and services.
• Understanding of scripting languages for automation purposes.
