About this position

The Assistant Material Controls Manager is responsible for overseeing raw material inventory levels, ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards, and optimizing storage and material handling processes.

Responsibilities

• Regularly monitor and track raw material inventory levels to ensure the availability of materials for production or operations.
• Plan future raw material requirements and coordinate with the purchasing department to order necessary materials in a timely manner.
• Manage and control the storage areas for raw materials and food products to ensure safety and organization.
• Oversee the storage of products in cold storage to meet required standards, including temperature monitoring and risk management.
• Develop a storage layout plan to optimize material handling and access efficiency.
• Ensure food storage complies with hygiene standards (GMP, HACCP) and food safety regulations.
• Monitor expiration dates (FIFO - First In First Out) and ensure the products are managed in appropriate conditions.
• Receive incoming goods and raw materials, verify quality and quantity against purchase orders, and record the data in the system, with special attention to food products requiring specific quality checks.
• Plan and coordinate the delivery of raw materials and products to production or destination areas on time; including the transportation of food products that require temperature control.
• Control stock levels and produce accurate inventory reports.
• Conduct monthly or quarterly stock counts to verify the accuracy of inventory data.
• Generate summary reports on raw material usage, loss, shortages, and other issues, and propose improvements for raw material and warehouse management.
• Ensure cold storage meets the proper temperature requirements for each product category.
• Perform regular maintenance and checks on cold storage equipment to ensure efficiency and reduce the risk of product damage.
• Develop more efficient raw material inventory and warehouse management processes.
• Recommend the implementation of automated systems or software, such as WMS (Warehouse Management System), to enhance storage and material handling efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management, Material Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
• At least 10 years of experience in raw material control, warehouse management, or inventory management, especially in food products and cold storage management.
• Proficient in ERP, WMS, and relevant software for material and warehouse management, such as SAP, Oracle, or others.
• Knowledge of hygiene standards (GMP, HACCP) and food product management.
• Strong data analysis skills and the ability to plan systematically.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with various teams.
• Time management skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Responsible, proactive, and eager to learn and develop new skills.
• Understanding of warehouse management and internal transportation processes, including temperature-controlled product storage.
• Full-time position with flexibility for extended hours during peak project phases.
