Industrialization Project Manager
About this position
The Industrialization Project Manager (IPM) is responsible for managing the industrialization of a new project, ensuring timely delivery and adequate capacity with optimal cost and quality.
Responsibilities
• Organize team, with the best cost and quality to conduct: RFQ activity, through Design (including DFx activities), Production Process and Test Development, Managing Prototype and Design Verification Builds, and Delivery of the Process to a manufacturing plant.
• Help acquire new business by providing the manufacturing portion of an RFQ; and supporting Global AME and Plant Manufacturing teams to conduct new project sample delivery and new process development.
• Perform a complete planning of the manufacturing elements of the new product introductions:
• Organize project team
• Work with team to finish RFQ in time: including operation process, cost.
• Generate appropriate schedules. Work with process engineers to complete cost calculations to optimize the balance of in-house vs. subcontracted manufacturing.
• Prepare target/actual comparisons regarding required capacities and work with all stakeholders to develop investment costs and production times.
• Propose design changes based on feedback from manufacturing and calculate related cost savings.
• Manage the Industrialization Plan
• Develop schedules, including key milestones, PE and TE equipment with proper process setting.
• Perform detailed costing and budgeting for each investment item, dividing each item into base and type-specific costs.
• Initiate and manage the approval of funds, including the development and tracking of any necessary CAR or Project approvals.
• Leading transfer to target plant.
• Work with local and global team members to develop and justify capital expenditure proposals.
• Monitor and report on capital expenditures at the plant level throughout the fiscal year.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Industrial Relations, or other manufacturing-related disciplines.
• Minimum 8 years of Project Management experience managing projects throughout the product lifecycle from development to SOP.
• Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment.
• PMP certification preferred.
