About this position

The Data Analyst position involves providing technical support for raw materials in the Outerwear & Underwear R&D In-Season Raw Material Team, focusing on the development and sourcing of new fabrics, elastics, and trims.

Responsibilities

• Point of contact for RM developments as assigned. Manage all aspects of the new RM development. Maintain clear communication and visibility around status of developments or projects
• Coordinate and manage new colour trials, garment wash trials and print trials
• Manage set up and maintenance of RM final specifications and standards including PLM and physical hangers as nominated by the business
• Provide proactive technical advice, support and trouble-shooting during development and sourcing
• Regular visits to key raw material suppliers, garment vendors and industry experts to maintain good relations and share new product findings with the R&D team streams AU
• Delivering on business and brand expectations for raw materials that meet our design and quality requirements, without compromising on these due to cost or time
• Partnering with our raw material suppliers to expand their technical expertise in order to achieve new innovative RMS and a superior product
• Ensuring a smooth handover of new RMs to production without any QA or delivery issues
• Briefing in fabric, elastic and raw material developments to suppliers to ensure product briefs are achieved and are appropriate for their end use, as well as meeting Quality, timeline and Cost requirements
• Coordinate testing and approval of new RM developments
• Negotiate with vendors to achieve design requirements, quality, cost, lead time and MOQ/MOCs
• Work closely with Merchandise team to ensure clear communication on all R+D projects.
• Share research findings with wider R&D and Design team, thus ensuring innovation opportunities can be maximised across all relevant categories
• Creation and ongoing support to central fabric and trim libraries
• Coordination of RM & Fabric Libraries required to support In Season new product development
• Set up and maintenance of VMBs and trackers
• Product is developed in accordance with Product Development budgets
• Ensure all RM testing is carried out during development and completed with due diligence before being signed off for production
• Liaise with In Season and Innovation RM teams and QA on Risk Assessments of new products
• Technical and testing advice for ad hoc issue resolution

Requirements

• Experience in raw material development and sourcing
• Strong technical knowledge of fabrics, elastics, and trims
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Proficiency in PLM systems and product development processes
• Strong negotiation skills with vendors
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of quality assurance processes and testing methodologies
• Experience in maintaining relationships with suppliers and industry experts
